Girls Flag Football Clinic

The Girls Flag Football Clinic will be held as part of the 19th annual Rockford Football Training Camp, Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Indoor Sports Center at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two.

The girls clinic will include dynamic warmups, competitive workouts, football skills, and drills that will be supported by high school varsity football coaches. Athletes should come ready to work out.

This is a free event thanks to the VanVleet Family Foundation, Winnebago County and The Chicago Bears! Camp is for 6th - 12th grade girls and will be led by statewide high school girls flag head coaches and Tremaine Edmunds of the Chicago Bears.

The WNBA and NBA recognize the valuable role sports can play in the development of young girls and the advancement of women as leaders in society. This national initiative is dedicated to championing change on behalf of girls and women. It aims to help all females participate fully across all sectors, giving them a forum to connect, collaborate, and actively engage with basketball and celebrate their achievements. Local high school coaches will instruct this four-part series focusing on life skills, violence prevention, nutrition, and basketball skills. Local female leaders will be guest speakers in each session.
