Hockey

Our programs provide our participants to learn the great game of hockey in a fun, safe environment.

Once you learn basic skating skills in Intro to Skating (ages 3-5) or Basic Skating Skills–Basic 1 (ages 6–16), you can begin taking hockey lessons.

Our hockey lessons, clinics, and camps focus on developing the skills necessary to successfully join the Junior IceHogs Hockey League.



Youth

Jr IceHogs Youth Leagues - 4 different session (spring, summer, fall, winter)

  • All leagues include practices and games
  • All leagues except for our summer session have a season ending tournament

3 on 3 League - Games are on Friday evenings between 5:00pm and 8:00pm

  • This fast paced, action packed league allows players to really improve their quick thinking and creativity as a hockey player

Mite Travel Teams - August - March

Jr. Icehogs Mite AAU Rosters

  • For those who meet the Mite age requirements and are looking for a more competitive league
  • Play half of the league games in the Chicago suburbs and attend some out of state tournaments

Intro to Travel Mites - January - March

  • Designed to give players and families a taste of what it is like to play travel hockey
  • Play 6-8 games and practice once a week.

Youth Learn to Skate Classes - 5-6 week sessions

  • Intro and Basic focus on the necessary skating skills to move into hockey specific classes
  • Ter-Mites 1 and 2 will be introduced to a hockey stick and progress to puck handling, and passing
  • Minor Hawks is the perfect transition for kids to move from lessons to league

Youth Clinics

Youth Learn to Play Hockey - Beginning hockey lessons for older youth who are learning to play hockey for the first time

Skills and Drills - designed for hockey players who are looking for more time to work on their game

Power Skating for the Hockey Player - this class is designed improve how hockey players skate

Youth Camps

Spring Development Program - This is a very skills focused program

  • Low Coach to Player ratios
  • Participants will practice both On and Off the Ice twice a week
  • Everyone will be offered to participate in one tournament

Spring Break Hockey Camp - works on all aspects of hockey. Skating, passing, shooting, stickhandling

  • Also includes off ice training as well to help the campers become better overall athletes

Fundamental Camp - for ages 5-15

  • Teaches the fundamentals of hockey during an all day, camp (Mon-Fri)
  • Lunch and jerseys are provided
  • Campers will work both on and off the ice
  • We finish off the week with a special game day with coaches and referees

Elite Hockey Camp - for ages 6-17 and must have at least one year of travel hockey experience

  • Learn hockey skills with other experienced campers
  • Lunch and jerseys are provided
  • Campers will work both on and off the ice
  • We finish off the week with a special game day with coaches and referees

Select Summer Camp - for ages 6-17 and must have at least one year of travel hockey experience

  • This unique camp offers five hours of ice time every day
  • Kids who attend this camp are highly motivated to develop as hockey players

GAINZ Camp - for ages 7 and up

  • Designed to help kids improve their overall athleticism. Better athletes make better hockey players
  • Visit exciting Locations like the Junior IceHogs Training Facility, UW Health Sports Factory, and the Indoor Sports Center at Mercyhealth Sportscore Two
  • Participate in activities like soccer, basketball, volleyball, ultimate Frisbee, Flag football, Boxing< Lacrosse, as well as other field and court sports

Tryout Prep Camp - Designed for anyone who is trying out for a travel team in the fall

  • Both On and Off Ice workouts
  • Really prepares the kids both physically and mentally for what to expect at a competitive tryout

No School Holiday Hockey Camp - These half day camps are designed to help kids work on their hockey skills when they have a day off of school

  • Holidays like Columbus Day, Veterans Day, and Presidents Day

Holiday Break Camp - Takes place when kids are out of school around Christmas and New Years

  • This is a perfect way for kids to improve their hockey skills while enjoying their holiday

Like a Pro - Allows campers to not only see what it is like to be a pro hockey player but it also enables them to interact with them as well

  • We team up with the Rockford IceHogs to provide a very special experience for our campers
  • On and Off Ice workouts at the BMO Harris Bank Center
  • Instruction from Coaches and Players
  • Locker Room Tours
  • Get the chance to watch the Rockford IceHogs practice or even play a game

Adult
