Riverfront Museum Park

Customer Service Specialist

Riverfront Museum Park is seeking a qualified and dependable person with Customer Service experience to work two - three evenings during the week and every other weekend. Following are more details:

Customer Services Staff (CS) are scheduled to be on duty at RMP during the hours when the building is in use, and/or when RMP management office is closed. CS reports directly to the RMP Facility Manager. While on duty, the responsibilities for CS includes greeting/directing visitors, responding to security, safety and service issues, and other general questions or concerns. CS requires excellent customer relations skills. This person is the first impression when visitors come to Riverfront Museum Park. A friendly and professional tone are vital in this role.

CS is responsible to arm and un-arm the security system for the building at the beginning and end of each shift. CS is responsible for the safe evacuation of visitors in the event of an emergency and must have the ability to handle emergency situations in calm and professional manner. The CS communicates all activities / events to RMP Management as part of a shift report. Communication is essential in this position. Use of a computer is necessary.

CS part time position's hours of work vary. Average hours are two - three evenings each week from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm or 9:00 pm (Monday through Friday) and 8:00 am to 5:30 pm on Saturday and Sunday (every other weekend). Additional evening hours for special events and Holidays may be scheduled. Flexibility with the CS schedule is imperative, since schedule revisions for meetings and activities can occur.

Candidates must have a customer service background with a proven and dependable work history.

Registrar Position

Rockford Art Museum (RAM) is currently accepting applications for a part-time (20 hours per week) Registrar. We seek candidates who think creatively and work well both on their own and within a team. The hourly rate of pay is dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.

Interim Education Coordinator Position:

Rockford Art Museum (RAM) is currently accepting applications for a full-time Interim Education Coordinator (EC), who will assist the museum’s staff through the current time of transition between Executive Directors (ED). In addition to the qualifications listed on the attached position description, the successful candidate for this position will be positive, energetic, and able to multitask. We seek candidates who think creatively and work well both on their own and within a team. Once a new Executive Director is in place, the responsibilities of the EC may or may not shift.  If the EC position changes significantly, the interim EC will be encouraged to apply for the new EC position, assuming the candidate meets the position’s application requirements. If the position does not change significantly, the position will no longer be interim and will be considered a regular hire. At this time, RAM anticipates the new Executive Director will be in place and able to review the position within 6 months of this posting. Salary (with benefits) is dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
