Pee Wee Slammers
Participants will be introduced to basic skills like hand-eye coordination, ball control, and how to hold a racquet. Fun and games will be emphasized throughout the session. Racquets will be provided for daily use.
Pee Wee Aces
Players in this level should be able to hit the ball over the net. In this level, participants learn basic strokes which include forehand, backhand, and serving. Rally ball format will be used for game play. Racquets will be provided for daily use.
Continue to develop all the basics while learning new skills. Match play and rally ball formats will be emphasized. Good sportsmanship, rules, and etiquette will also be included.
This is the top level in the youth lesson program. Players in this level will have the opportunity to reinforce their skills and further develop their abilities.
Junior Tennis Day Camp
This two-week camp is designed for kids who are either beginner or intermediate players. Our high-intensity drills and games are a great way to improve your tennis. This camp is a great way to build a foundation to eventually try out for your high-school tennis team! Players will be grouped according to skill level and age.
Junior Match Play Training
Players with prior experience in Rockford Park District programs or middle school tennis teams will train to prepare for participation in competitive formats such as junior high/high school tennis teams and USTA tournaments.

Adult Beginner Drills
These high-energy drills will focus on hand-eye coordination and basic stroke development. Players will learn to rally and get a great workout.
Adult Advanced Drills
This is a great way for league players to focus on improving their skills. You will take part in action-oriented drills that focus on stroke development, doubles positioning, and match play strategy.
Mixed Doubles League
This league is for men and women who want to play competitive tennis matches against other Rockford Park District players. Players will be grouped according to level. This is a great way to meet new people, and a perfect supplement for those of you who are in our Adult Drills. League fees include cost of balls.
Cardio Tennis is a new, fun, group activity featuring drills to give players of all abilities an ultimate, highenergy workout. Cardio Tennis includes a warm-up, cardio workout, and cool-down phases. If you want to find a healthy new way to get in shape and to burn calories, you ought to try Cardio Tennis! This lesson will include fast-paced drills where a Forest City Tennis professional feeds balls to players based on their ability and fitness level. The pro will find ways to keep players moving and challenged… all while having fun!
