Special discounts, programs, and events for veterans, and current members of the armed forces and their family
Thank you! These two words are not nearly enough to thank our members of the armed forces and their families for the extraordinary sacrifices they have made in serving our country. As a token of our appreciation, the Rockford Park District has established a program called Operation Recreation to provide special discounts, events, and programs for veterans, and current members and family of the military.
Here's how it works:
As part of the Operation Recreation initiative, individuals with a valid military ID or a DD214 form will receive a 10% or other discounts on select Rockford Park District passes, admissions, shelter registrations, and individual registrations for lessons, camps, and clinics. In addition, four special events, and a fitness program for returning members of the armed forces with disabilities has been developed and funded through a special grant from the U.S. Paralympics and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association.
