Welcome to Atwood Center
Environmental Recreation and Education
Classes are offered year-round with offerings such as field science, outdoor living skills, archery, Native American studies, and a challenge course. The Atwood experience is residential, enabling youth and teens to learn about the night-time and daylight world, as well as creating lasting memories. Day programs are also available. We bring our program staff to you to sample outdoor recreation and education in a familiar setting.
Atwood's Environmental Recreation & Education program coordinates high-quality outdoor experiences with existing Illinois State Board of Education standards.
Bring your classroom for our popular residential program, which can be scheduled for 1-1/2, 2-1/2 (most popular), 4, or 5 days. Capacity is 75 students, grades K-12.

Youth under age 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Groups of five or more, please call 815-874-7576 and let us know you’re coming!
