Bearings & Bruises Competitions

Location: Skatepark at Flodin Boys & Girls Club

Each contest will have four age divisions (3-9, 10-13, 14-17, and 18+). Youth competitors will have two runs each, with the highest score taken. Adult competitors will compete in a “jam” format in heats of four on the course at the same time. Contestants are judged on their overall impression, and awards are given after all divisions have participated. The top three in all divisions will receive an award.

This isn’t your ordinary competition! We’ll have a DJ on site playing music while an MC announces all competitors’ runs with an awards ceremony to end the event.

Skatepark Clinic

Would you like to learn how to skateboard or rollerblade? Youth of all skill levels are welcome. Our experienced staff will teach you how to get started or master your craft. Students will learn how to “push” or “skate,” drop-in on ramps, basic to advanced tricks, and skatepark etiquette. We will focus on creativity, fun, and most importantly, safety, throughout the four-week program.

Skatepark Camp

Skateboarders and rollerbladers of all skill levels are welcome, no experience required. Our staff will guide you through the skatepark allowing you to have fun, learn tricks, and make friends while using the skatepark safely. This camp will give you the experience and confidence to enjoy all of our skateparks in a safe way. Children ages 5-12 may also register to attend the Time2Play Neighborhood Playground program following the Skatepark Camp.

The Rockford Park District also offers Skateboard, Bike, and Rollerblade programs.
