The Good Neighbor Award is a program designed to recognize friends and neighbors for beautification efforts on residential property. The door hanger award reads "Thank you for doing such a great job with your lawn/garden. Your effort is very much appreciated. You make a positive difference in this neighborhood." Anyone can bestow the award by leaving the Good Neighbor Award door hanger with a favorite gardener. It can be done anonymously or in person.

Recipients of the award can enter a drawing. Selected properties will be featured in the Rockford Register Star "At Home" section.

Good Neighbor Award door hangers are available at the Rockford Park District Sinnissippi and Downtown Offices, City Halls (Rockford, Loves Park and Cherry Valley) the Courthouse, Klehm Arboretum, Rockford Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Forest Preserve, Rockford Arts Council, and all branches of the Public Library.
