Washington Park Community Recreation Center
Since 1958, Washington Park Community Recreation Center has been a place to play and grow together for thousands of people. The center provides programs and activities that welcome not only the Washington Park area, but also the entire Rockford community. Enjoy our multi-purpose room, game room, gymnasium, weight room, arts and crafts room, as well as the library and computer center! New this year: membership program!
Winnebago County Housing Authority
Has its Central Office located here. WCHA has three senior and disabled housing sites in Rockford, Rockton, and South Beloit as well as 52 rental homes part of the HOPE VI Neighborhood Revitalization. Administers approximately 400 Housing Choice (Section 8) Vouchers in both Winnebago and Stephenson Counties.
Partnering with Rockford Housing Authority to provide a Family self Sufficiency program to our Housing Choice Voucher participants. This program enables individuals to develop their education, job skills, and employment levels to allow them the opportunity to become independent of housing assistance and become homeowwners themselves.
