Programs
Wyoming Trail Rides
All trail rides are staff guided, and horses walk the entire ride. Horses of all colors and sizes are ready to carry you on a quiet, scenic ride through Lockwood and Page Park trails. Trail rides offer a recreational experience and are fun for the entire family (age 8 and older) Equestrian helmets are required and provided. Advance reservations strongly recommended and deposit is required at time of reservation.
Pony Ring
Children ages 1-7 love our covered pony ring! Ponies in all shapes, sizes and colors are ready for your child. Children must be under 48" and weigh 80 lbs or less to ride the ponies. Parents are strongly encouraged to walk alongside their child during the ride.
Children's Farm
Across the covered bridge in Lockwood Park (south side) is the Children's Farm. Friendly sheep, goats, pigs and other farm animals await your small child. Feeding of animals is prohibited, except when feed is available for purchase in the park. Please have your children wash their hands after coming in contact with the animals. The animal barn is open Saturday, noon to 5 pm. During the week, the animals can some times be viewed in their outside pens from 10 am-3 pm, but may head inside for shade. (animals may not be able to be seen during hot weather.)
Hay Rides
Great family fun! Consider a 20-minute scenic trip through the meadows and woods on a tractor-drawn hay ride. Wheelchair accessible.
Riding Lessons
Our group riding program is based on a progressive system. Each level builds on the skills learned in the previous level. As students improve and master skills, they progress to the next level. Our group riding lesson format includes many levels based on progressive skills and is offered in both English and Western disciplines.
Lockwood Sightings (ages 18 and older)
Here is an opportunity to see the beautiful trails of Lockwood and Page parks aboard the Lockwood Show Wagon. This trail tour will provide opportunities to practice your photography as the spring wildflowers bloom, or bring your binoculars to identify native Midwest birds. Comfortable bench seating and a knowledgeable tour guide will provide an enjoyable midday excursion, weather permitting. Reservations will be required in advance, with a minimum of ten people signed up per ride. (limit of 16)
Summer Camps
Lockwood Park offers three different summer camps.
