Linda K. White Center

Linda K. White Center, Rockford, IL
located in Reuben A. Aldeen Park
623 N. Alpine Road, Rockford, IL 61107

Reuben A. Aldeen Park encompasses 92 acres of maple-oak woodland, prairie, and creek habitat. Since 1965 the park has been a great location for outdoor activity to include hiking trails, a baseball diamond, and a reserveable picnic shelter for family and group gatherings.

During the school year months, the Therapeutic Recreation Department provides various programs for people with disabilities of all ages, including an after school program for teens. From June to August, the Center is home to Nature Quest, a summer day camp for children ages 5-10, providing typical camp activities such as outdoor cooking, archery, hiking, games, crafts, and tie-dyeing.

The Linda K. White Center has a great room with capacity for 100, a kitchen, and many accessible features, and is available for rental by private groups. For more information, contact the Therapeutic Recreation Office at 815-987-1606 or 888-871-6171 TTY.

Please Note:

Due to construction, we are not currently taking reservations at the Linda K. White Center for private groups. Our Atwood Lodge has similar meeting space. If you are interested, please contact Peggy Hacker at 815-489-1000.

The Linda K. White Center will reopen when construction is complete in early 2012.
