Atwood's Environmental Recreation & Education program coordinates high-quality outdoor experiences with existing Illinois State Board of Education standards.
 
Bring your classroom for our popular residential program, which can be scheduled for 1-1/2, 2-1/2 (most popular), 4, or 5 days. Capacity is 75 students, grades K-12.
 
Programs can be tailored to meet specific needs and are taught by our professional staff, with assistance from the classroom teacher. We provide day and evening programming, and an overnight building supervisor. Disability-related support is available after the school day.

Good to Know

Atwood program staff members are proficient in safety areas including First Aid, CPR and AED and are trained and certified by American Red Cross, Experiential Systems, Leave No Trace and USA Archery.

The Atwood Environmental Center is licensed and inspected by the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Winnebago County Health Department.
