Program Assistant-Autisum After-School Program
This position requires you to work directly with participants with autism. You will be required to possess sound judgment, have good organizational and leadership qualities along with being able to establish and maintain effective relationships and demonstrate flexibility as a team player. As program assistant in the autism program, some responsibilities include assisting in creation and lead daily schedule of activities, and the ability to individualize recreational opportunities by identifying participant barriers. Must be a minimum of 18 years old with a minimum of two years experience working with people with autism. Hours are Monday-Friday 2-6pm. This program is located at Easter Seals Child Development Center-Autism Therapeutic School of Rockford, 650 N. Main St., Rockford IL 61103.
Program Assistant (year-round)
Program Assistants needed to work social programs to assist people with disabilities. Join a team that helps adults with disabilities to be active in social settings such as hockey games, dining out, shopping, dances, and indoor/outdoor themed activities. This program runs year round with the program meeting on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Must be at least 21 years of age. Disability awareness training provided. Coach Adapted Sports (year-round)
Must be at least 20 years of age, or at least 18 years of age with two years experience working with youth. This position would require some travel for out of town games. Program hours vary, week nights 5:30-8:30 pm and some weekends for competitions. This position would be responsible to initiate and execute specialty recreational programs and develop a schedule of activities and curriculum that meets the need of the participants under the guidance of the Area Coordinator/Recreation Specialist. Program Assistant - Inclusion (year-round)
This position involved various programs and facilities located throughout the Rockford Park District and is staffed year round, summer and school year seasons. Days and hours vary based upon programs assigned. Ideal applicant will assist in creating and organizing recreational programs, initiate and lead program activities and assist in recording the progress of participants. Good oral and written communication skills a must with the ability to problem solve in a variety of different situations.
